Ink drawing

Copic Clouds

Hey everyone, I have a traditional drawing for this week. I used my ink brush and copic markers for this. I was going to also use my fountain pens, but I realized that they both ran out of ink. Really unfortunate, but more is coming on Wednesday. I got some grey copic markers and wanted to see how they would blend. I also found out the paper I use isn’t very good for blending, oh well…

I hope to get my next piece finished soon so I can post earlier in the week.

Octus Ink

Hey everyone, for this week’s drawing, I decided to do an ink and copic piece and then add more to it digitally.

Here’s the Ink and copic version. The red in my copic pack is actually vermillion, but it wasn’t as dark as I wanted, so I decided to just color in his eyes. Overall, the minimal colors look really nice on this. Before I go, I just have to say that Kuretake brush pens are awesome!

Blue

Got a traditional drawing for this week! I bit the bullet and bought a pack of copic markers. So far, they’re pretty good. I really like the blending and color mixing it can do. I thought my paper would be thick enough for it to not bleed through, my brush pens don’t, but I was wrong. I had a fun time drawing this and I didn’t struggle with the pose/gesture this time. I think it would be best if I quickly sketch a pose and keep working on it till I like it- make it the best I can instead of spending forever sketching. I could probably get a lot more drawings done that way.

I used ink brushes and fountain pens on this one. I’ve been thinking about getting copic markers for these drawings, but God they’re just so expensive. Maybe I’ll get like 3-5 colors and just use them for highlights and effects or something, or at least find cheaper alternatives.

Stranded

Ink brush drawing! I got a few more to work with now, a fine tip with black ink, a medium tip with sepia ink, and another medium tip with grey ink. I had a lot of fun drawing this one and also exploring the idea of Pixim and Garvao getting stranded on a desert planet because their modded ship malfunctioned.
