Photo study & Goal Achieved

Hey everyone, I did a photo study for this week’s drawing. I took this picture while on a road trip to try something new. This was a lot more time consuming than I initially thought, but it was pretty fun to do. I really like the colors in the photo I took as well as the scenery. I have a lot more pics from the road that I could study from, I may do that in the future.

Today marks the 52nd week in a row that I uploaded a new drawing! It’s been a long journey and I learned a lot. There were somethings that I wanted to do but haven’t been able to yet. I can still do them in the future though. It’s been a fun ride and there were many times I wanted to quit or just didn’t feel like drawing or creating something at all. Thank you for following and sticking with me through this! I don’t know if I’ll continue keeping this streak up as I want to work on my game, but who knows? I’ll always have more things to post!

Junker Ship

Hey everyone, I have a digital drawing for this week’s … drawing. I wanted to step out of my comfort zone a bit and try doing a vehicle. Going back to an earlier drawing, I wanted to go a bit deeper with the “custom ship” idea. I like where it is so far, but I’m going to add more details to really sell the customization/modded look in the future. The two sketches in the back are what I came up with at first to get a feel for how it would look at an angle. I think learning 3d modeling would help me a lot. Now, I gotta get back to Tears of the Kingdom.

Misc. Character Designs

Hey everyone, it’s been a pretty rough week for me in terms of drawing. I think I’m starting to feel burnt out. I really didn’t like any of the sketches I made, so I decided to change course and try something new. I did this exercise where you draw random blobs and make characters out of them. It was pretty fun, but … I don’t know. I think not being able to draw what I initially wanted to put a bad taste in my mouth. I also still wasn’t able to move up my post date. Hopefully, I’ll have a better outcome next week!

Year of the Rabbit 2023

Happy New Year!

Here is my first illustration of 2023. I made this in Procreate during my work breaks. I worked on this little by little each day and had a great time with the process. This will hopefully help me overcome my procrastination. I’ve never done any illustrations of the Chinese zodiac or drawn any beastman characters in a while, so I thought it would be cool to try my hand it at. Anyway, that’s all for this week.

2022 Art summary

Hey everyone, here is my art summary from 2022!

This year has been the most productive I’ve ever been in terms of drawing. It’s mostly thanks to my final semester at college where I took 3 classes with one professor where I had to have a drawing assignment done each week. This was tough at first, but I eventually got used to it. When the semester ended, my professor encouraged us to keep going with our own artwork and to continue with the momentum. I decided to roll with this and had a goal to submit at least 1 drawing of any medium a week. I’m happy to say that I’ve been doing this for the past 32 weeks! There have been a couple of times when I wanted to stop, but I’m so glad I didn’t.

For 2023, I want to finally make a game. It’s always something I wanted to do and I think it’s finally time. I’ll still make artwork of my characters, but I also want to share my game development progress. I’ll most likely make an itch.io account and share it that way. I hope you’ll all join me on my journey in both art and game development!

Artfight R3

Final artfight attack. This character belongs to TheRyotea. I’ve been continuing my human character practice and I’ve found a website to help me with poses and references. This artfight was a new experience for me, in the beginning, I was super inspired and wanted to draw a lot, but that changed when I started a new position in my work. I am happy that I managed to do 5 attacks though!

Artfight R2

Wow, I really did not mean to update this late. Things have gotten pretty crazy with my job, but it’ll calm down within the week. Anyway, here is my next art attack on Koriver and RattBastard. I wanted to do more attacks, but work comes first. I’ve also been wanting to draw humans more, so these characters gave me great practice! Hopefully, I’ll have more pieces done for next week!

Artfight R1

Hey, Ultra here, I have decided to participate in artfight this year. I wanted to try drawing different characters and still continue experimenting with my art style. I have completed 3 attacks this week!

This is my first attack on Amira_Moonlake of her character, Bayou. I experimented with the pencil brush and pastel brush with this one. While I do like how it came out, I don’t think I’ll continue drawing in this style.

Next attack is on Turbobear and CosmicBlock of their characters, Secrypt and Nightshade. I think I used brushes in the pen group mostly. I do like how this came out, but I wished I pushed Nightshade’s pose more to strengthen the dynamism. I think I will continue using this style from time to time.

Lastly, here is my attack on ILusSaturn and venusambassador of their characters, Shiatake and Aetos. I really like how this came out. This is the art style I’ve wanted and the one I am going to draw in and push and improve. All this experimentation has really paid off.

Before I go, I recently bought the TourBox. This has really improved my workflow and really sped up my work process. The combination of the TourBox and artfight has really inspired me and made me super excited to draw!
